A brief profile of key board members is set out below.
Mike originally joined IMO in 1999 as Chief Operating Officer. In 2006 he stepped down to a non-executive role as Deputy Chairman of the group and rejoined on a full time basis in his current role in February 2009. Mike previously worked for BP where he was Head of Planning and Strategy for BP’s global retail business.
Prior to this Mike was UK Retail Manager for Mobil’s chain of 700 petrol filling stations. Mike has an honours degree in business studies from the University of Aston in Birmingham.
Jonathan joined IMO in 2000 as UK Managing Director from BP. Prior to that he was at Mobil Oil company where he held a wide variety of operational roles, latterly as head of the BP European fuel card Business. Since 2007 Jonathan was Managing Director of IMO’s continental operations before taking up his current position. Jonathan received an honours degree in Economic history and Politics from Leicester University.
Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Nilesh recently joined the Group as Chief Financial Officer, having spent the last 14 years in private equity backed businesses. Most recently Nilesh was at Skrill, initially as Group CFO and then as SVP of Emerging Markets. Prior to this he was CFO at Inclarity Plc and Power Plate International. Nilesh started his career at KPMG, moving to HSBC Investment Bank to focus on equity capital markets and M&A, and was Financial Controller of M&S Foods before his transition into private equity backed businesses. Nilesh is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from Oxford University.
Non Executive Director
Jim began his retailing career at Woolworths in 1962 before moving to B&Q in 1971. He went on to become Chief Executive in 1986 and was appointed to the Kingfisher board in 1994. He became chief executive at New Look in 1998 before taking the company public.
Currently Jim is Non Executive chairman of Furniture Village, Ultimate Products and Massmart in South Africa.
Non Executive Director
Alexander joined IMO in 1979 and as Managing Director of the UK business was responsible for developing 200 locations between 1985 and 1998. Alexander was previously an Associate Director of Orion Bank Ltd and is now a Non-Executive Director of Rose HoldCo Limited and a Non-Executive Director of Sotheby’s Europe. Alexander has an honours degree in Modern Languages from Cambridge University.
Partner at TDR Capital
Jon is a Partner at TDR Capital. Prior to joining TDR in 2006, he was a Partner at Hampshire Equity Partners for nine years, where he was responsible for sourcing, executing and managing private equity and distressed debt investments. Previously Jon worked at BT Capital Partners. He has over 20 years of private equity and principal investing experience. Jon graduated from Duke University with a degree in Economics and Public Policy Studies.
Investment Director at TDR Capital
Matt is an Investment Director at TDR Capital. Prior to joining TDR in 2008, he worked at Och-Ziff Capital Management Group LLC in the special investments team. Previously Matt worked at Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc in the Leveraged Finance team. He received a Masters degree in Modern History and Modern Languages from the University of Oxford.
